PRESS RELEASE: NEW PROGRAM ERASMUS+ FOR THE 1ST EPA.L. OF KARDITSA

PRESS RELEASE: NEW PROGRAM ERASMUS+ FOR THE 1ST EPA.L. OF KARDITSA

Recently, the 1st EPA.L. of Karditsa received approval from the State Scholarship Foundation to participate in a new European program. This is an Erasmus+ ΚΑ2 Vocational Education and Training program with code number 2018-1-ES01-KA229-050254, titled «Our Intangible Heritage, a Value for the Future».

Given that the year 2018 has been declared ‘European Year of Cultural Heritage’, the program was created in response to the fundamental need of preserving our civilization and local customs. The participating countries are: Spain, Turkey, Greece, Portugal and Estonia. The activities in which students and teachers will be involved include the search for information about oral traditions lost with the passing of time (e.g. traditional songs, games, recipes), as well as their presentation among the participants in the form of projects.

Our aim is to enhance familial and social institutions through the search for information among relatives and friends, and to cultivate cooperative and communicative skills among the students. Moreover, the involvement of the local community as a whole and the contact with foreign cultures will contribute to the strengthening of our national identity and the recognition of how vital it is for our future to preserve it.

The 1st EPA.L. of Karditsa has undertaken in the past, and will continue to do so, innovative actions which help to improve the quality of education provided to our students. It has also made efforts to take advantage of opportunities that offer our teachers even more knowledge and experience, which will prove useful for their work at school and their personal life.
