Within the framework of the new Erasmus+ European Project materialized by the 1st EPA.L. of Karditsa, three of the school’s teachers travelled to A Pobra do Caraminal in Spain from the 12th – 16th November 2018 for the first project meeting. The program’s title is: «Our Intangible Heritage, a Value for the Future» and the participating countries are: Spain, Estonia, Turkey, Greece and Portugal. The aim is the fundamental need to preserve our culture and local customs, to search for information regarding oral traditions lost with the passing of time (e.g. traditional games, songs, recipes), as well as their presentation among the participants in the form of projects.
Our school’s teachers Mr. Pappas Sokratis, Mrs Malliora Maria and Mr Gkoumas Asterios took part in presentations and meetings relevant with the subject and with Spain’s cultural heritage. They also witnessed local festivities and hospitality within the school, having to do with the revival of local customs, cooking recipes, dances, songs and games. Finally, they visited museums in the area and places which have been declared ‘World Heritage Sites’ by UNESCO.
The 1st EPA.L. has, and will continue to, undertake actions which contribute to improving the quality of education given to our students. It has also made efforts to take advantage of opportunities that offer our teachers even more knowledge and experience, which will prove to be useful for their job and for their personal life.
